To celebrate the end of the school SOS5 join final party with a workshop for students of ICS Madre Teresa di Calcutta (Milano)

Final step of the OpenSpace project for SOS5 team.
The project was designed in collaboration between the SOS (School of Sustainability) and MC Architects, thanks to the partnership with ActionAid and the Fondazione con i Bambini that was the economic developer of the whole project.
Trhee different workshop caractherized the project: the first meeting when SOS5 presented results of research upon learning spaces and methods (in the past, in the present and future trends) to students of ICS Madre Teresa di Calcutta (Milano) and students were asked about their school and their needs; in the second meeting students worked as designers to be involved in the design phase using drawings, models and photos; the last meeting celebrate the results of the project presenting it to the community and autorities and let students build up a mockup as milestone and first step to the beginning of the works.
This approach adds value to the entire masterprogram and its results because they are shared and understood by they community, fundamental part of the design phase.
The activities described in the video are part of the project OpenSpace, selected in August 2018 by “Con i Bambini” in the framework of a initiative for fighting educational poverty, a joined effort of Acri, the National Forum for “Terzo Settore” and the Italian Government, and will continue across the 2019 and 2020 involving other schools in Reggio Calabria and Palermo. Mario Cucinella Architects and ActionAid are among the partners of the project, with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and the participation of: Albero della Vita Foundation, Federgat, Giovanni Paolo II Foundation, Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Arteteca, Junior Achievement Italia, Bayty Baytyk, Cittadinanzattiva, CONI, Municipality of Bari, Reggio Calabria, Palermo and Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) – Bocconi University.
